ALPHACAM System Requirements

Ready to get started with ALPHACAM software? This guide provides a breakdown of the system requirements you’ll need for a fluid and productive workflow.
Although ALPHACAM offers a wide range of powerful tools, its minimum hardware requirements are quite manageable by current PC standards. To achieve optimal performance, it is beneficial to surpass the minimum recommended specifications.
Minimum System Requirements:
These specifications will allow you to install and run the base ALPHACAM CAD CAM software:
- Processor: 64-bit Intel Pentium 4 processor (2 GHz or faster), Intel Xeon, Intel Core, AMD Athlon 64, AMD Opteron, AMD Phenom or later, in single, dual or quad core versions.
- Memory: 4GB RAM or greater (depending on Operating System).
- Storage: 10 GB available storage.
- Graphics Card: Ensure you use a good dedicated Graphics card with its own memory, the latest WHQL certified driver must support OpenGL 3.3 or later.
- Recommended Graphics Cards: NVIDIA Quadro Range or AMD Radeon Pro Range.
- Input Devices: Keyboard and mouse
- Networking: Network interface using TCP/IP
- Serial Ports: Available RS232 serial port (one per machine tool using RS232 serial DNC)
- Operating System: Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit only, Professional or Business editions recommended)
Recommended Hardware Specifications:
If you plan to utilise ALPHACAM for Woodworking, Metal, and Stone Cutting, you may want to consider these specifications:
- Operating System: Windows 11 Pro
- Memory: 32GB RAM.
- HDD: SSD Hard Disk Drive.
- Processor: Core i7/i9 or equivalent AMD Xeon CPU, with 12 or more physical cores.(logical cores doubles physicals core for multi-threading)
- Supported Operating Systems:
- Windows 10 Professional.
- Windows 10 Enterprise.
- Windows 11 Professional.
- Windows 11 Enterprise.
- Graphics Card: ATI FirePro series or the NVIDIA Quadro series with latest drivers.
- Please Note: ALPHACAM will not install on Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 or 8.1.
IMPORTANT : This software requires Microsoft. NET framework 4.7.2 or higher. Please make sure that you have installed all the latest Windows updates or installed .NET framework 4.7.2 or higher seperately.
Recommended Hardware Specifications for Reverse and Data Acquisition:
- Operating System: Windows 11 Pro.
- Processor: Intel Xeon Processor @ 3GHz or equivalent.
- Memory: 64GB RAM.
- Graphics Card: NVIDIA Quadro P5000 with 5GB Memory.
Please Note:
- ALPHACAM will install and run on the ‘home’ editions of these operating systems. However, this is not recommended, and we cannot guarantee to fix any ALPHACAM issues specifically related to these operating systems.
- The Sentinel RMS License Manager runs as a system service on Windows 10 and Windows Server up to and including the latest release. Note that the Sentinel RMS License server can installed on Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 but as these operating systems are no longer supported by Microsoft and ALPHACAM it is not recommended. Standalone (single seat) Sentinel RMS licenses cannot be locked against the Computer ID USB keys for use on a virtual server.
- It is not recommended to have multiple ALPHACAM versions installed on the same computer when the user has limited rights or UAC is ON as this may potentially cause problems.
