RADAN System Requirements
A Guide for Smooth Performance
Looking to run RADAN software? This guide will detail the system requirements to ensure a smooth and efficient experience. While RADAN boasts powerful features, its needs are surprisingly modest compared to modern PCs. However, exceeding the minimum specs is always recommended for optimal performance.
Minimum System Requirements:
These specifications will allow you to install and run the base RADAN CAD CAM software:
- Processor: Pentium 4, 2 GHz or greater
- Memory: 4GB RAM or greater (depending on Operating System)
- Storage: 20 GB available storage
Graphics Card: Minimum 1024 x 768 resolution with 32-bit color depth - Input Devices: Keyboard and mouse
- Networking: Network interface using TCP/IP
- Serial Ports: Available RS232 serial port (one per machine tool using RS232 serial DNC)
- Operating System: Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit only, Professional or Business editions recommended)
Recommended System Requirements for Advanced Features
If you plan to utilize RADAN’s 3D capabilities or additional modules like Radbend, Radm-ax, Radtube, and more, consider these specifications:
- Processor: Dual Core, 2.8 GHz or greater
- Memory: 8GB RAM or greater (depending on Operating System)
- Storage: 40 GB available storage
- Graphics Card:
- Minimum 1920 x 1080 resolution
- Support for at least 65,000 colors
- OpenGL graphics cards: Must support OpenGL 3.0
- DirectX graphics cards: Must support DirectX 9.0c
- Input Devices: Keyboard and mouse
- Networking: Network interface using TCP/IP
- DVD Drive: Optional (not required if downloading updates from the Hexagon Customer Portal)
- Supported Operating Systems:
- Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit only)
- Windows Server 2012, 2019, or 2022 (with latest service packs installed)
- Important Note: Windows Server 2016 functionality is not guaranteed across all versions.
Additional Considerations
- Software Downloads: RADAN software and updates are available through the Customer Portal.
- System Configuration for Installation Service: Customers purchasing RADAN’s installation service must provide a pre-configured system.
- Networked Applications: Customers are responsible for configuring their network for networked applications.
- Application Performance: Performance can be impacted by various factors like running applications and network traffic. Consult your IT provider for further clarification.
- Windows Version Support:
- RADAN 2022.0 was the last version to support Windows 7 and Windows 8.1.
- While a lightweight 32-bit version exists for RADAN 2017 (DNC/2DCADCAM only), limitations apply for data import.
- RADAN 2016 was the final version to fully support 32-bit operating systems.
